  2. Sanitize your workspace. According to the Wall Street Journal, the average desk has 800 bacteria per square inch – roughly 14 times more bacteria than an office toilet seat. In order to prevent getting sick, clean your workspace often with household spray or a disinfecting wipe.

However, not touching your face may be one of the easiest ways to prevent illness at work. “Nervous habits like biting your nails or touching your eyes can put you more at risk of catching the coronavirus [and other illnesses],” Dr. Cioe-Pena told Business Insider. “Things like that, that you do habitually with unclean hands, can put you at risk.”

  1. Avoid physical contact, including hugs and handshakes. It’s also important to limit physical contact with others when possible. This year, many companies are encouraging employees to abstain from handshakes and hugs while in the office in order to prevent the spread of diseases like the coronavirus and flu. “The handshake is a tough thing because it’s so ingrained in our culture,” Dr. Cioe-Pena said. “Touching elbows is a safer option than a fist bump or [handshake], avoiding areas that may come in contact with your face. Even a slight nod or bow will get the job done. I think people feel awkward about not reciprocating a handshake if someone extends their hand so initiate something. It’s a common-sense change in our society that we need to be mindful of.”
  2. If your office allows you to work remotely, stay home. The CDC is currently recommending that all employers tell sick employees to stay home. However, many workplaces are also encouraging healthy employees to consider working remotely. If you’re sick yourself, do not come into work under any circumstances. If your workplace allows you to work from home, it may be recommended by your employer that you do so in order to best protect yourself and others.

As the novel coronavirus spreads across the world, many companies are getting ahead of the curve and implementing policies that are allowing employees to take time off or work from home in order to avoid getting sick or infecting others. “The idea right now is to practice social distancing, so that if you work with someone who is sick, you’re not within 6 feet of them,” Dr. Cioe-Pena said. “Employers were a little slow on the uptake, but we’ve seen a lot of big employers make this move [to allow their employees to work from home] and see that it’s a good idea. It also cuts out the commute, which is a risk if you’re taking public transit where you’re really packed in during the rush hour.”

Above all, experts emphasize to remain calm. “We need to keep calm,” Dr. Cioe-Pena said. “We have to take this with the appropriate level of seriousness, protect the people who are most at risk, but the rest of us have to take the anxiety down one notch and get through this.   2. Self-quarantine if sick. Tell your boss as soon as possible if you are remaining sick especially with COVID-19 signs and symptoms. In other words, if these antibodies are detected in a person’s body, this means that the person’s body has been exposed or entered by the Corona virus. But you need to know, the formation of these antibodies takes time. So, the rapid test here is only a screening test rather than an examination to diagnose a Corona or Covid-19 virus infection. The only test that can determine whether a person has been reactively infected with Corona virus so far is only a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) examination. This examination can detect the Corona virus directly, not through the presence or absence of antibodies to this virus.

Procedure and Interpretation of Rapid Test Results

The rapid test procedure begins with taking a blood sample from the tip of the finger which is then dripped into a rapid test kit. Next, the liquid to mark the antibody will be dropped in the same place. The result will be a line that appears 10-15 minutes after that.

Positive rapid test results indicate that the person examined had been infected with the Corona virus. Even so, people who have been infected with the Corona virus and have this virus in their body can get negative rapid test results because their bodies have not formed antibodies against the Corona virus.

Therefore, if the results are negative, the rapid test needs to be repeated 7-10 days after that. You are also still advised to do independent isolation for 14 days even though you have no symptoms at all and feel healthy.

Well, if your rapid test results are positive, don’t panic yet. The antibodies detected in the rapid test may be antibodies to other viruses or other types of coronaviruses, not those that cause COVID-19 or SARS-CoV-2.

So, it is necessary to take a swab for PCR testing to determine whether there is a SARS-CoV-2 infection. Before conducting a PCR test or while waiting for the results, you must undergo independent isolation at home for at least 14 days.

During isolation, avoid traveling and contact with other people who live in the same house, while applying a clean and healthy lifestyle. Apply physical distancing, i.e. keep a distance of at least 1 meter from others and wear a mask when having to interact with others.

Due to limited equipment, not everyone can undergo this procedure simultaneously. So far, examinations have only been prioritized for people who are more at risk of COVID-19. The criteria include:

Anna further stated that if the first rapid test showed negative results, it does not mean that the person tested was truly negative Covid-19.  It could be that when the first rapid test was carried out, the antibodies had not yet formed.  Therefore, the rapid test must be repeated within 7-10 days.

Conversely, the results of a positive rapid test also do not necessarily indicate that the person tested is actually affected by Covid-19.  The reason is that the detected antigen is unknown whether there is a cross-reaction with pan-coronavirus. “We also have to know whether the antigens detected are indeed very specific or there is a cross reaction with pan-corona (virus), so the corona virus in general,” Anna explained.

This rapid test can screen people who are judged to need to undergo further tests.  To confirm or establish a Covid-19 diagnosis, a PCR examination is needed.

However, what is a Rapid Test, exactly? Quoted from Covid19.go.id, “Rapid Test is a test that aims to detect the Cove (CHIDVE) COD-the case so that the government can take the right action for the spread of the virus.”

Please note, Rapid Test is only done to people at risk of contributing Corona virus. As never contacted directly with the positive person of Corona virus, ever in a local transmission country, and has symptoms of fever or disruption of respiratory systems. If the COVID-19 rapid test results are positive, further tests need to be done, namely the PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test that can detect the presence of Corona virus directly.  The PCR test, which is often called the swab test, is an official test used to diagnose COVID-19.

So what should you do if your rapid test results are negative?  Can this ensure that you are not infected with the Corona virus and that this virus is not in your body?

Understanding the Interpretation of COVID-19 Negative Rapid Test Results

Negative rapid test results show that in the body no IgM and IgG antibodies are found against the Corona virus.  However, these negative results do not mean you are definitely not infected with the Corona virus or not exposed to COVID-19.

A negative COVID-19 rapid test result can be interpreted as follows:

  1. You have not been infected with the Corona virus

When a COVID-19 rapid test is performed, the Corona virus may not exist or have not yet entered your body.  However, you could be infected with the Corona virus later on after a rapid test.  Therefore, you still need to take precautionary measures to prevent contracting this virus.

  1. Your body has not made antibodies

Corona virus may have entered your body, but the body has not formed immunity or has not produced antibodies to fight the virus. Usually, rapid test results are still negative within 1-2 weeks after a person is infected with the Corona virus.

This is because the body takes at least 2-4 weeks to produce IgM and IgG antibodies for the Corona virus since exposure to this virus.  It is IgM and IgG which are detected through COVID-19 rapid test.

  1. You need to do another test

The COVID-19 rapid test is indeed cheap, practical, and provides fast results to detect whether your body has formed immunity to fight the Corona virus.  However, unfortunately until now, the rapid test is still considered less than ideal for diagnosing COVID-19. Therefore, other examination methods, such as a physical examination by a doctor plus a PCR test and X-ray or CT scan of the lung still need to be done to diagnose COVID-19.

What to Do if Your COVID-19 Rapid Test Results are Negative

If your COVID-19 rapid test results are negative, you are advised to take the following steps:

  1. Independent isolation at home if there are symptoms.

To break the chain of the spread of Corona virus to others, you still need to undergo an independent isolation protocol at home if you experience symptoms of COVID-19.  The trick is to:

-Do not travel outside the house and do all the activities at home, including work, study, and worship

-Perform physical distancing by limiting physical contact and keeping a distance from others at least 1 meter.

-Wash hands with running water and soap for 20 seconds or use a hand sanitizer with an alcohol content of at least 60%

-Do not touch the face, especially the eyes, nose and mouth

-Cover the nose and mouth with a mask when being close to other people

-Cover nose and mouth with folded elbows, forearms, or tissue when sneezing or coughing, then immediately throw the tissue in the trash

-Clean objects that are frequently touched, such as door handles or mobile phones, with disinfectant

-Do not share the use of toiletries and cutlery with others

You need to do a rapid test again with an interval of 7-10 days after the first rapid test that results are negative.  If you have been in contact with people with COVID-19, you may be advised by a doctor to undergo a PCR test and a CT scan of the lung.

A rapid test does not confirm the diagnosis that you are infected or not infected with the Corona virus.  Whatever the results, both positive and negative, you still need to take precautionary measures so that you do not catch it and transmit the Corona virus to others.

Honestly, it is pretty self-explanatory. Basically, you have to do some yoga every day; a certain poses in a certain time. The more difficult the asana, the greater your Instagram feed will look. Oh, and of course, since Yoga is very well known to give you good vibes and energy, those will be the bonus you get after completing the challenges. To make it even more fun, involve the whole Yoga Class and host a Zoom Yoga Class instead. You can even wear matching outfits if you decide to make a video and post it on social media.

  1. Workout Challenge

If you’re not into Yoga, you can do a Workout Challenge instead. Pick a (or some) activities and set a time or counts for you to accomplish. You can do planks, push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, whatever you want and need to do. Use your favorite outfits, look awesome, get some pictures to inspire your friends. What’s more important is, stay fit and healthy.

  1. Dance Challenge

Not into Yoga and Fitness? It’s okay, you can still work out in a more fun way while hearing your favorite songs from 1998 blasting from the speakers. Dance it out, people! Unleash your inner Madonna and give your body some good moves. If you have no idea how to dance, it’s time to use YouTube for inspo. Simply search for your fave upbeat songs video clips and see what the dancers are doing; then try to imitate them. Have fun, don’t worry, no one is going to judge you if you miss a move- or two, or three.

  1. Couples Challenge

Since we’re all having so much time on hands, why not use this unfortunate situation to know your partners better? If you have been married or in a relationship for a long time, this is the perfect time to spice things out. You know, rekindle the fire so it stays on alright. However, since we cannot go out on a date, here are some alternatives to do with your partners. Just bear in mind that some of these needs extra preparation like having the kids go to bed first… if you know what we mean. We don’t play games here.

  1. The Dating Challenge

To make this more fun, take a turn with your partner and have each of you do it on the weekend; that way you’re guaranteed to have a date four times in a month. The challenge itself is actually pretty easy: each of you have to prepare a perfect date for the other. Remember, it’s supposed to be perfect for them, not you. Use your knowledge of them that you have gained from the time you spent together. However, you are not allowed to ask your partner what a perfect date would be for them. By the end of the night, ask them to rate the date. Use this rate to orgnaize a better one next week.

  1. Sweet Talks Challenge

it is sometimes hard to remember to say nice things to our partner when we are stuck in a rut. Let us remind you, don’t take them for granted. This challenge is good to make you and your partner to feel loved and appreciated again, and there is so many ways to do it. You can challenge each other to blurt a compliment every time you ran into each other.

You can also set a time-frame in which you have to thank them for five things they have done for you or help you with that day. You can even change the rule a bit and switch the words into hugs or kisses if you are not so good with words; the possibilities are endless, but the goal is to make your partner feel the love and appreciation they deserve.

  1. Naked Challenge

And finally, for the feistiest one. Again, the title is pretty self-explanatory. And please, make sure the kids or any other house mates are asleep if you decide to do this challenge outside the bedroom. Psst, if you ask us, it’s actually much more fun if you do it outside the bedroom. The idea is to surprise your partner with -you guessed it- your naked body, and see what their reaction is.

Some people are making videos of their partners’ reactions and woohoo, needless to say, those videos are not very long. Everybody seems to immediately finish what yhey were doing and (just almost) come running to their partner’s smokin’ hot body. Well, you know what they say: go bold or go home.
